An executive coach is a qualified professional that works with individuals (usually executives, but often high-potential employees) to help them gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve their development objectives, unlock their potential, and act as a sounding board. Executive coaches act as coach, educator, mentor, guide, confidant, and challenger to those that carry the burden of executive level leadership, the c-level executives as well as their direct reports. Executive coaching creates the perfect feedback loop whereby executives can gain valuable opinions and feedback to help seek continual improvements. It helps celebrate transparency and communication, ensuring executives feel listened to and valued.
Leadership Coaching is a developmental process where a leader gets tailored help from a coach to help them achieve a goal and become a more effective leader. The coach's role is to help remove the obstacles that stand in the way of the leader attaining their goals.
